Erika earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State
University, Chico. Before transitioning to her role as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), she
dedicated four years as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing crucial support to children
with autism and special needs. During this time, she also volunteered at Brain Rehabilitation and Injury
Network (B.R.A.I.N) in Friends of Brain Injury (F.B.I) meetings, facilitating discussions and activities for
brain injury survivors and community members.
Throughout her career, Erika has discovered immense fulfillment in assisting diverse children and
adolescents navigating various etiologies and communication disorders. Fluent in both English and
Spanish, she seamlessly bridges language barriers to provide comprehensive support. She particularly
enjoys early intervention sessions and is currently interested in Gestalt Language Processing, reflecting
her dedication to staying informed and enhancing her skills in the field.
Outside of work, Erika enjoys leisurely walks with her four-legged companion and indulges in her love
for dark chocolate, tea, and savory cuisine. She cherishes moments of laughter with friends and family,
always valuing meaningful connections.
